We had a great time at Essex Quadrant Chapter last night as we took receipt of the Travelling Rose from Courtenay Chapter in the company of the Inspector General for the District – V∴Ill.Bro. John Hubbard 33°
We then invited family and friends to join us for our annual ‘Wear The Rose’ St. George’s Day Celebration in support of the SSAFA where we were treated to a bountiful English feast of roast beef with all the trimmings.
Mark Smith gave an entertaining and truly moving talk about his experiences with militaria and the lifelong journey, from hobby to career, instilled in him from his late father’s experiences in the RAF during the war as part of Force 136. The full article of Mark’s courageous father can be found here.
The evening raised nearly £600 for SSAFA who do so much to support our military personnel and their families.
If you missed this one, make sure you don’t miss the next!
